Live fast – die young

27 Club

27 Club (Club 27), sometimes Forever 27 Club or Curse of 27 is known among fans of group of influential rock and blues musicians whose life ended abruptly in twenty-seven years. Causes of death in some cases somewhat mysterious. Another link between the club members were frequent drug use that all the deaths were more or less connected.

To encourage the creation of the club was unusual number of deaths of significant 27-years old musicians in just two years. They included Brian Jones, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Jim Morrison. They all died in the period 1969-1971. Brian Jones and Jim Morrison died even in the same day (July 3rd) with a two-year difference between the death of Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin passed only 16 days.

Later they were given their popularity and the fact that also died at the height of his career, assigned to Kurt Cobain, who died in 1994. (According to the book Heavier than Heaven said, when he died, his sister claimed that as a boy wanted to become the 27th member of the Club Amy Winehouse died in July 2011.

The popular hypothesis says that 27 is a critical age for musicians. Australian researchers from the Technical University of Queensland studied 1,046 biographical information musicians who managed to reach the highest rungs of British hit parade in period between 1956 and 2007. And they discovered there is no any Club 27.

Jimi Hendrix (one of the best guitarists of all time) used a variety of guitars in his life. He was seen playing Fender Jazzmasters, Duosonics, many different Gibson Guitars including two different Gibson Flying Vs, a Gibson Les Paul, three Gibson SGs or a Gretsch Corvette. One of his instruments was sold at a Christie’s auction for 168,000 dollars.

But the magic of this phenomenon can not be stopped. According to research a little more serious factor is the age of 40. Due to their lifestyle and mental health problems often far from each live to be forty.

Other research says that 27 is the age at which officially starts aging and when there is a noticeable decline in mental abilities. Giants of the Club 27 actually left the world at the best vital shape…
